Just trying to get opinions here of what people think about internet dating sites like Match, eHarmony, Yahoo Personals, etc. Any success stories? Any nightmare stories? Think they are a good idea?

I met my fiance on yahoo personals. I’d consider that a success story. I met several other people there and went out with a few guys a couple i saw more than once a few i just saw once things just weren’t right with them for various reasons. But then i met my fiance and we’ve been together for two years now and are getting married in a couple months. We’ve even bought a house together.

Be careful some have been known to fraud their me members in order to obtain money. Also you really don’t know who is on the dating site, Thier just pictures and words on a page online. Match.com does background checks on all thier members so just be cautious on which one you choose

i’ve been tempted to meet people that i’ve talked to on yahoo personals but i’m afraid that they’ll be some crazed weirdo that’ll kill me. but if you do meet someone you meet online just be extra careful. meet them in a busy public place, like a busy restaurant.
